Baby Rompers in Merino Wool & Silk

A baby romper is an essential first layer in your baby's wardrobe. It fits comfortably around the upper body, stays in place underneath other clothes and keeps the back and belly covered throughout the day.

Naobi Baby rompers are made from a fine blend of merino wool and silk. The lightweight fabric feels soft against delicate skin and moves naturally with your baby. Choose from wrap rompers for easy dressing during the first weeks and boatneck rompers for a simple everyday fit.

Baby Rompers as a First Layer

A baby romper is worn directly against the skin and forms the base of an outfit. The close yet flexible fit makes it easy to add pants, leggings, shirts or a onesie without creating unnecessary bulk.

Because the romper fastens underneath the nappy, it stays in place while your baby sleeps, stretches or is being carried. This helps keep the back and belly covered, even when the clothing worn over it moves.

Wrap Romper or Boatneck Romper?

The best style depends mainly on your baby's age and how you prefer to dress them. A wrap romper opens at the front, while a boatneck romper is pulled over the head.

Romper style How it works Suitable for
Wrap romper Opens fully at the front, so it does not need to be pulled over your baby's head. Newborns and the first months, when gentle and simple dressing is especially helpful.
Boatneck romper Has a flexible neckline that makes it easy to pull the garment over the head. Older or more active babies and quick everyday dressing.

A wrap romper can be particularly practical for a newborn because you can place your baby on the open garment and close it around the body. This reduces the need to lift or guide the head through a neckline.

A boatneck romper has a wide, flexible opening around the shoulders. It is easy to put on and can usually also be pulled down over the body when changing, rather than being lifted back over the head.

Baby Romper or Onesie?

A baby romper and a baby onesie serve different purposes. A romper covers the upper body and fastens underneath the nappy. It is generally worn as a first layer, often with pants, leggings or another garment over it.

A baby onesie is a complete one-piece outfit that also covers the legs and, depending on the design, the arms. Choose a romper when you want a flexible base layer. Choose an onesie when you want the upper and lower body covered in a single garment.

Merino Wool & Silk Baby Rompers

Naobi Baby rompers are made from merino wool and silk. Together, these natural fibres create a thin, smooth and flexible fabric that is well suited to clothing worn directly against the skin.

Merino wool can help regulate temperature and absorb moisture, while silk gives the fabric an especially soft and smooth feel. The result is a lightweight layer that can be combined with other baby clothes in different seasons.

Long-Sleeve Baby Rompers

A long-sleeve baby romper keeps the upper body and arms covered while still allowing you to choose separate clothing for the legs. It can be worn with soft baby pants or leggings, underneath an onesie or as part of a layered outfit.

The fine wool-silk fabric makes the romper suitable as a close-fitting base layer without feeling heavy. Depending on the temperature, you can add or remove clothing over it while keeping the first layer against the skin unchanged.

Designed for Dressing and Changing

Baby clothes are put on, removed and opened many times throughout the day. The neckline and fastening of a romper therefore have a direct effect on how practical it is to use.

The press studs underneath make the nappy easy to reach without removing the entire garment. The fabric should sit close enough to remain in place, while leaving sufficient room around the nappy, shoulders and legs.

Check that the leg openings do not leave deep marks and that the fabric does not pull across the shoulders or around the fastening. A well-fitting romper should follow the body without restricting movement.

Choosing the Right Size

Choose the size of a baby romper primarily according to your baby's body length. The romper should fit close to the body, but there must be enough room for the nappy and for your baby to stretch and move comfortably.

If the fabric pulls around the neck, shoulders or press studs, the romper may be too small. If it folds heavily around the body or the leg openings are very loose, the next size down may provide a better fit. Always check the measurements and sizing information on the product page.

Baby Rompers in Calm Colours

Naobi Baby rompers are available in calm shades that can be combined with the rest of the collection. Neutral colours such as Off White, Beige and Cappuccino form a versatile base, while Baby Blue, Baby Pink and Lilac add a soft colour accent.

A romper is often partly visible underneath a shirt, dress or open layer. Choosing colours that work together makes it easier to create different outfits with a smaller number of garments.
